Does anyone here take prozac? I have been on it for a little over 2 months and since starting it, I have gained 25 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea, you heard me right. The only place I have gained weight is my gut. I feel disgusting and it is causing me undue stress. I will have to tell my doc, but I thought someone may have experiences with it. Thanks!

It didn't happen to me but I have a friend who used to take it and she gained alot of weight as well. Her face also blew up like a big balloon. She finally lost some weight after she stopped taking prozac. So I guess it seems pretty common to gain the weight.

Hi! I have taken Paxil Cr for over a year now, I have gained over 30 pounds. I am miserable. This is actually my first time visiting this message board, with the same exact concerns as you. I switched to Lexipro and I began taking Topamax and it is supposed to help with weight loss, I guess we will see how it goes. Best of Luck!

:eek: One of my co-workers got put on Prozac a year ago and she gained 40 lbs. with it. She still takes it because she feels better, and she says the prozac is making her "fat and happy". So she dosen't like it, but she tolerates it. Luckily my happy pills didn't make me gain weight. I have enough problems losing what I got already.
I'm sure there is another pill you could get put on that won't make you gain weight. Good luck, though...because a lot of antidepressants have weight gain as a side effect. Yucky.
