Okay, does anyone know if digital scales or dial scales are better to use? I can see where a digital would maybe be more accurate, but then a dial one could be too. I just dont know. I guess I want a scale that shows the most accurate weight, so that I know how I am doing in means of my goal. It seems like no matter how well I eat and how much exercise I do, the scale never moves....... It is very frustrating.....

I prefer the dial ones.

However, I think you're putting too much emphasis on your weight. Yes, it is important to lose pounds but if you're weight training or even if you're a female going through different parts of your cycle, your weight can be off.

Tip: don't weight yourself often. Weekly is enough. It's a lot better that way. When I lost 30 pounds I didn't even have a scale in the house.

Good Luck!

Myself, I like digital scales. They help me pin-point my weight.

You need patience if you're going to weigh daily, as I do. You don't make a huge jump every time you hit the scale. One thing I've done is made an Excel document. In the document, I write down my daily weights and then have a running graph of my weight. The visual aid is such a nice thing to see.

Keep it up, things will work out.

I prefer the digital but depending on how well made the scale is either could be better ot worse than the other.
A junky scale is a junky scale whether analog or digital.

A good test is to lean way forward and then lean way back...a lot of difference in the readings and the scale is junk...if you paid more than $50 it's JUNQUE (but fancier):D:D!

Unfortunately, some digitals can mask the fact of variable readings by locking in the first reading.

You want a scale that is reproducible. In the first week weigh yourself several times without eating, drinking or going to the bathroom over an hour or so...you should get within a pound of the same number. If not, take it back and try another.

Solid, sturdy and heavy are all plusses. You don't want a platform that flexes underfoot...it absorbs part of your weight and skews the reading.

A NICE plus is a calibration wheel on the scale. Then you can take it into your doctor's office or better yet your gym (and pile calibrated weights on) and turn the dial to adjust your scale's weight to a known standard.

scales are scales....none of them are exactly arrucate. mine isnt neways. i'd step on it..say a number. id step off, step on it again, and im 3 lbs heavier,,lol. crazy. if u were to weigh urself, do so at the docs. theres is always accurate. i noticed tho, that the doc's scales results are like 3 to 5 lbs heavier then wat urs would read at home.
