Last night in one of my gym classes... the teacher mentioned that if we were going to be taking the class regularly (a strength and stretch class) we should start taking potassium supplements. Does anybody know why?

Potassium is one of three electrolytes in the body. It works to control the shuttling of fluid in the body. I am guessing that it was suggested as a supplement to prevent cramping? However fresh fruit, peanuts or fish are a good source and all you really need

How much potassium is too much??? Is it possible to have too much potassium?

Adults should receive 1,600 to 2,000 mg daily - keep in mind natural sources. The ratio is 5:1 with sodium.
