I've recently tried taking the pill for 42 days in a row instead of the usual 21. I had talked to my doctor about it and she said that it was ok seeing as I was also switching from Triquilar to Alesse.

This is my fourth month....and second period on the 42 day alesse pills....and this period is my lightest period ever. (and it was a day early) I thought that since there is 2 months worth of stomach lining comming out at the end of the month that there would be heavier periods...

what's going on?....did the pill lose some effectiveness when i switched brands or switched to the 42 day plan?...or can periods lighten up just because?...also...is a lighter period a sure sign of pregnancy?

I've been on the pill for 2 years...never missed one....hardly ever late...(i usually take it between 8am and 10am)

Just wanna know what's going on with my lovely period

It's just a side-effect from the pill. Nothing to be alarmed about.

I found alesse (even on the 28 day cycle) has given me some of my most lightest periods ever. On occasion I will even nearly miss a period, with some light spotting and nothing else.

That said, this is also variable, because I still have cycles where it seems like things build up more, and then I have a heavier period.

It's just an added benefit of the pill, just like the above poster said, so enjoy it while it lasts.
