What can happen sometimes is that a state of anemia may exist that will show in the blood work. Then as the doctor pursues the cause of the anemia, the tests given may lead to lymphoma. I have talked to people who have lymphoma who have never had blood work that was out of the normal range until Chemo began. The chemo lowered the white cell counts. Anemia can be a symptom of blood loss, or of bone marrow failure or because of nutritional deficiency that may be caused by disease. The trick is finding out what is causing the anemia and it will lead to the treatment that works. |
