last monday i had a routine mammogram 3/28. something showed up. the next thing i was in an other room having an ultasound. three days later im at my dr.'s office. she feels the lump. she gave me the worst senario. radiation and theropy for five years. i will be having a biopsy this week. i read the report and it said suspisious of malignancy. is this saying what type of cancer is it?

They will be doing the biopsy to find out first if it is indeed cancer, then to see what type it is. What type of biopsy are you having? I had a stereotactic one last summer. I am surprised your doctor told you about what would happen in worst case senerio already. I am glad you are getting it checked out. In the vast majority if cases it is not cancer and I hope and pray that is the case for you. If it is, at least you have obviously caught it early. Be sure to let us know what they say.

thank you Nancy, was your test last year negative? my report also said i was a catagory 4b acording to the bi-rid. i hope its nothing.

Yes, my test was negative. The radiologist told me that suspicious masses only have a 5% chance of being cancer. I hope that statistic holds true for you.

What type of biopsy are you having?

hi nancy, i am not sure what kind yet. im seeing my surgon today. the report suggests stereotactic technique. im just amazed how quick im being taken care of. it makes me feel like the radiolagist and my pcp believe its cancer. all this has not sunk in yet. i believe in "just fix it". i am glad yours was negative. one more thing have you heard of the triple test?

nancy i am having a fine needle biopsy done by the radiologist. why do you ask? then in three days a report will be sent to my dr. my test is not till the 15th. i said anytime any day and thats the earlist i was able to get. that goes to show you how many breast biopsies they do. i will be going to a breast cancer center for the test. maryellen, i will let you know.

I was just curious to know if it was the same type as the one I had.

I had to wait only about a week and a half for mine and they were pretty sure it was not cancer, so don't let the fact that they are doing it quickly scare you. I wish you all the best. Please let me know how it goes and what they say.
