Hi,
About two months ago i went to a concert and the ringing afterwards did not go away. Im currently a music student and im subjected to a moderate amount of noise every day. i do wear earplugs but i feel they are making it worse and ive recently saw my GP who told me not too wear them. Then about 3 weeks ago i started to get pressurised spells. My ears felt like they were going to pop, then it went away and built up again over a small space of time. I started using eardrops to eliminate the posibility of hardened ear wax but they didnt help. Then, two weeks ago i started to lose some hearing. Its not so much hearing loss, its a feeling of lifelessness. The ringing in my ears has also been dampened by this loss of hearin. I cant here trebley sounds so well anymore. When i saw my Gp recently, he told me that it was an inner ear infection and gave me a weeks course of antibiotics. Its now nearly two weeks and ive stil not got my hearing back to normal. Im incredibly worried that i wont get my hearing back and will never be able to enjoy my music again. I hope someone can help me out soon!!!!

Nick:

The only advice I can offer would be to give your ears a break. You say that your ears are subjected to a "moderate amount of noise everyday." It could be that you ability to hear got slammed by the concert you attended. You could be making your situation worse by continuing to subject your ears to that moderate amount of noise everyday.

If you can take some time off of school, you might be happier later on that you took some time off now just to give your ears a chance to recover on their own. Don't over do it, Nick.

Take care and the best of luck to you.
