My husband and I were just married in September and in Dec. decided that I should stop taking the pill (orthocyclen-28). We weren't necessarily trying to conceive, but b/c I had heard that it could take a few months to get your period back on cycle I figured I would start now. So I took my last pill in December and have yet to get my period. The first week in March I called my obgyn and she said to wait until the middle of March and if still nothing she'd prescribe medicine to get it started. The middle of March came, and no period. The doctor sent me for the blood test, which came back negative, and prescribed pills to be taken for 5 days. 3 days after I finished the pills I still had no period  and called the doctor back. She sent me for another blood test, again negative, and prescribed hormone pills. I'm worried that this is a sign of something more serious. Has anyone been through something similiar? Is this something that is typical, should I be patient?

Your period should have gotten back to normal by now probably. Especially since you didn't get your period after taking the pills. It is probably something hormonal. Could by thyroid, pcos, elevated prolactin... The cause of mine is rare, a pituitary tumor secreting acth.
