Are there any people who are taking these? If so, are they working for you? How long have you been on them? 3. Any side effects?

I was on Ortho Tricyclen (which apparently is the expensive birth control). Due to changes in insurance my gyno has prescribed to me Triquilar ED the generic (cheaper) equivalent to Ortho-Novum 777, TriNovum ED, Levonorgestrel-Ethinylestradiol.

Hi

I was on Ortho-Novum 777 from about 1998 to 2003. I had no side effects expect the occiacal headache once in a while. Unfornuatley my Doc. decide to take me off of it cause of my bolderline high blood pressure, and she put me on Depo. I'm hoping to go back on pill sometime soon.

I used Novum for about a month, but I reacted horribly to it. I was constantly nauseas, always feeling sick, even the sight of food made me want to throw up. I thought I was pregnant, but a test came back positive twice so..I must have been the 1% that can't tolerate it

I think its more than 1% of people who react badly to this pill. I was on it for 12 days and had to stop because the side effects were so severe. I had the worst cramping/body pain I've ever felt...and was constantly sick. When I got off of it, I bled for almost a month and my hormone levels were crazy. It was one of the worst experiances of my life, so I would avoid this pill if you can...you may have a different reaction, but don't risk it unless you feel it necessary.

I did some research after getting off of the pill and apparantly Ortho 777 is prescribed to older women primarily, because it does tend to "mess with" the hormones of young women.

Just my two cents

Wow, majority had bad reactions. Darn..insurance company. I'll have to try it. If push comes to shove I'll see if there is another brand that the company will "allow" me to use if not no sex for the husband...no, I'll pay out of pocket.
