Hi Peeps .
I have a serious illness of Irratable Bowel Syndrome . I go to the toilet about 10 - 15 times a day . I have now resorted to eating raw vegetables / fruits . I have been to many doctors / specialists / natural doctors / etc ...
I have tried many vitamins / meds / natural meds / etc ... Nothing seems to help me . Food makes me bloated / tired & go to the toilet . I have tried so many things but nothing seemed to help , i have become an almost specialist in this field thats how much time i have spent learning about my stomach .
It becomes really expensive for me because everything comes out so quickly that i have to eat constantly . It also becomes tiring .
An intro to the question :
I eat food / raw food , i feel my stomach actually working & the next 2 - 5 minutes the food is waiting in the bottom & i can feel myself wanting to go to the toilet . When i do go to the toilet , the next second everything comes out of me . I have tried every food possible on this earth to check what effect it has on me & the result is all the same .
The Question : If the food gets processed so quickly in my stomach & comes out , is any vitamins / nutrients / etc ... getting absorbed in my stomach & staying inside me . I have been like this for about 10 years now but this only became serious the last 2 - 4 years . I have been totally raw for the last 6 months .
Do many people go through this ?
I have taken many vitamins & the result is that i urinate everything out .
I really do not know what to do . I am such a wreck .
Help Everyone .

Raw food is horrible for a system that is already irritated. Cooked soft fruits and veggies would be a much more sensible approach. No peels, etc.

Hello Minded - Kiki Lou is absolutley right - eating Raw Veggies is about the worst thing you can do if you have IBS - Some suggestions that may help - go back to eating the cooked foods AND go to your local health food store and get a gallon of Aloe Vera Gel (not the juice).
You can drink it by itself or mix it with juice and it dosent taste bad, but it SOOTHES the digestive tract tremendously. You may need to take it a while. I have also heard that the herb Slippery Elm is helpful. :) :) ;)

minded,
Make that THREE opinions that you should eat less raw food.
Cooked food is easier on the intestinal tract and also is more readily absorbed which is important with your quick transit time.
Take you vitamins on an empty stomach so that they don't go through so fast.
Start taking psyllium 3 times a day and ignore the word "laxative" on the box...it won't effect you that way, probably the opposite.
Look for triggers like milk, orange juice, whatever and then avoid those foods.

Try avoiding all processed foods for a while. I cut out processed foods and wheat products (pasta, bread, starches) and have been A LOT better. You could try an elimination diet to figure out what's irritating your stomach.
But yes, eating only raw veggies can make it worse!

Food doesn't travel that fast through your system.....it's physically impossible. The eating triggers the defecation response at the lower end...it's stool formed from food you ate 12 - 48 hours ago.
Raw food.....yeowch, my aching gut. The body doesn't process it well since evolution took place starting once fire was used for cooking.
You have other options available.
