I posted on the general board about this... My shoulder hurts occasionally (right now it's moved into my upper arm). When I rotate it, it feels and sounds like there are little rocks in there or something. A search on the web suggested a labral problem of some kind, which would require antiinflammatories, therapy, maybe surgery. I don't remember injuring it; I don't play sports or anything.
Anyway, 1) am I correct in thinking that it's some labral thing, and 2) if I go to a doctor, should I go to a "regular" doctor and see what they think or should I go straight to an orthopedist (I'm on a PPO, so I can pretty much do what I want)? Obviously an orthopedist would be more familiar with stuff like this, but it may be sort of a sledgehammer-to-crack-a-nut if it's just a minor kind of thing.
Thanks.

Just to update. It went away and was gone for some time. This morning, I turned over to sleep on my left side, and now it's bad again, so it seems like it may be related to sleeping on my left side. The minute I woke up, I was in pain, and I knew that must have been the reason because I usually only sleep on my back or my right side. The bone still doesn't feel settled into the joint properly when I rotate it. I can feel it pop out every time it goes around, but I feel nothing when I rotate the other one.
