Has anyone ever heard of flow cytometry of the blood? I believe that is the blood test that the doctor said would tell me definitively whether or not I have splenic lymphoma. He said the standard blood tests would not give a definitive ansewr, but that this test would.

IT is definitely supportive of diagnosing blood cancers.
Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. :) Would you happen to know what the test specifically involves and why it will take three weeks to get the results back? I have done research on it, but have found very little.
Again, thanks for your response!

For you it is a simple blood draw. For the laboratory doctors it is a bit complicated. I do not have the ability to describe the process off the top of my head but only major laboratories do these tests and they can be expensive. This as to do with how far the testing must go in order to get a conclusive diagnosis since the testing has to be compared relative to the types of blood cells being tested or in some cases tissue samples. This is an extremely simplified explanation and maybe some one else could explain better.
