The doctor has perscribed me Amitriptyline 25mg to take each night before bed for my tension headaches. Has anyone else had good results from this??

jellebeans 04-08-2005, 04:53 PM hi,i tried those for tension headaches too.they helped me sleep better but that was it!!! didnt help my headaches,they gave me a really uncomfortable dry mouth and blurry vision!!! would reccomend taking glass of water to bed as really is a pain waking up with that dry mouth!!! i hope they work for you, jellebeans joewho79 04-14-2005, 04:09 PM I was given amitriptyline for anxiety. (25mg) Helps with headaches alot for me. :confused: I have since been taking 125mg. for anxiety and tension headaches. Knocks me out in about 30 min. after taking. You will have a very dry mouth in the morning, and one of the side effects, is weight gain!! I would give it a shot. It took me 3 weeks before it started working great.
