The doctor has perscribed me Amitriptyline 25mg to take each night before bed for my tension headaches. Has anyone else had good results from this??

hi,i tried those for tension headaches too.they helped me sleep better but that was it!!! didnt help my headaches,they gave me a really uncomfortable dry mouth and blurry vision!!! would reccomend taking glass of water to bed as really is a pain waking up with that dry mouth!!! i hope they work for you, jellebeans

I was given amitriptyline for anxiety. (25mg) Helps with headaches alot for me. :confused: I have since been taking 125mg. for anxiety and tension headaches. Knocks me out in about 30 min. after taking. You will have a very dry mouth in the morning, and one of the side effects, is weight gain!! I would give it a shot. It took me 3 weeks before it started working great. Hopefully you will get good results from it! Keep your head up!
