I have been on Ortho Evra*the patch* for over a year. I have maintained a regular period that always starts two days after taking off my third patch. Me and my husband have recently decided we wanted to start having a baby. So I finished my third patch and took it off last Thursday night. I have yet to start my period. Which is really unusual since it's always usually on time. Now last month, I ran out of patches and was waiting for my doctors appointment so I went one extra week without having a patch. Is it possible that I'm already pregnant? I was told by my doctor that it would probably take about three to six months before I would get pregnant. If I did in fact in get pregnant when I ran out of patches, did it do any harm to the baby to have the patch on? Thanks for any information you guys have.

It may be possible that you are pregnant. People get pregnant all the time when they mess up their birth control and forget to take it. So since you went that extra week without the patch then that is just like an entire week without birth control.

I would take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I know that my doctor said that if you go off the patch, it does not take long at all for you to be able to get pregnant.

There should be no harm to the baby because if you are pregnant it is in the early stages and you were not on the patch for a long time. But check with your doctor just in case and get a pregnancy test, and good luck.
