Has anyone had this procedure? Dr. Schiffer is recommending it for me. I have degenerative disk space narrowing and bone spurs at c5-6. Most doctors always fuse after removing the disk.

I've read a few positive articles on this ACD procedure, but so few doctors perform it that it makes me wonder.

It'd really help me out if anyone knew anything about dr. schiffer or the acd procedure itself without fusion.

Thanks

This is late, but I have read several studies online where ACD without fusion works as well if not better than Anterior Discectomy with fusion. It probably depends on the individuals anatomy, and of course how stable the spine is.

I was wondering how everything went for you. I have the same thing as you. My doctor has me getting a series of 3 epidural cortizone shots. I have had the first one. Did your doctor mention this to you? I would like to hear if you had your procedure done. I have not yet talked to anyone with the same problem as mine.
