I am 19 years old and I play guitar. I've realized that i may have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist due to an ijury that happened quite some time ago. It has been un-noticed for months and I am hoping that it will be reversable. I have made an apointment with my doctor already but have not had tests done yet, although i'm pretty sure it's there. My question is how long does it take before nerve damage starts happening? Everywhere i look up CTS it says that nerve damage may be irreversable. Isn't there ANY way heal the median nerve after damage has been done??? Mine may be that serious or it may not be... but the thought of not being able to play guitar like i used to makes me miserable. Any comments towards this would be greatly appreaciated..

I would suggest going to a doctor and have an EMG done. only this will tell how much damage there really is. There is no time limit as to when the damage is too severe, each person is differnt, but i would not wait to be checked or to take care of it.good luck

Hi,
I have logged a question about time. I have had CTS for a long time now but have suffered no nerve damage (according to the tests). Stay positive, but take care.
