I've heard that a fundo can only be done if you have a weak LES but proper esophag motility. One thing that baffles me about that is if you have GERD doesn't just about everyone has esophag problems like swallowing and what not? Anways, is there anyone here who's had any endo operations to help improve GERD symptoms? I've heard there's some experimental endo procedures.

I had fundo 4 months ago.
I had very little mobility in the lower part of my oesophagus.
I am now experiencing burning again, cant tell you why as I am now doing tests. It was great not having symptoms for the past 4 months.

I don't have a lot of problems with swallowing, only occassionally. I have a very weak LES. My doc wants to do the surgery but for me the results are too iffy to have it done..

I just posted on here about motility testing prior to nissen fondo. I was also told that they will not perform the surgery if you have any motility problems. I have severe GERD and the meds do not help at all. However, after having my motility test on Monday I found out I have swallowing problems. I am waiting to hear the official results from the doc, but I am sure I cannot have the surgery now. I NEED SOME RELIEF!!!!!
