I got lymes desease at age 4 and then went to Kansas City. Doctors there had no idea what this red ring around my eye was. they contacted the east coast after i told them that i got bit by a tick. i want to know if i still have it 20 years later. i have always been a tired person. i have no motor skills when im tired. i get shaky and just cant function. sometimes i stop breathing without noticing it. its been getting a lot worse and im sick of doctors telling me to eat right and excersize because i do!!! i think i still might have limes desease, my mom thinks im anemic and my aunt thinks i have type 2 diabetes ( i am not overweight thoug) and my friend thinks i have chronic fatigue syndrom. i dont know. i have been living this way for so long because so many people have just told be that i am lazy. but i know something is wrong. i dont even care is i get treated i just want to know for my own dignity so that when i tell people i am taking a nap they wont tell me that im lazy. if this is the way normal people feel when they are tired then i just dont want to live anymore because it is affectin every aspect of my life, and getting worse.
thank you

It is time for you to have a good physical to rule out various causes of your feeling the way you do. Find a good internist physician and get to the bottom of your problem. The things your mom and aunt think it might need are problems that can be treated. You might have mono or another illness that causes you to be tired and need more sleep.

Over time feeling bad can wear you down and then you become depressed. Maybe this is what has happened to you. Getting to the bottom of the problem will give you a new view of life. Life is wonderful, you are a much needed part of this world.

I really don't think lyme disease goes away?? It MAY be your problem. They can check for it with a simple blood test, have they done that?

Then again, maybe the blood won't show it, but the effects are there.

As Marie suggested, a good physical would be in order, but you say you're tired of doctors saying eat right and exercise...
Am I to assume you have HAD a top-to-toe workup RECENTLY? Yes? No?
When did you last get a full blood panel, urinalysis and physical?

Reagrding type 2 diabetes, one doesn't have to be overweight to have it.

Concerning Lyme, there is a Lyme Disease Board here on the Healthboards if you want to also post there.
