I believe most salons that offer Mystic also have a "sealant" type lotion that you use after the process to help preserve the tan. Did you use that?

No the barrier cream is what you put on your hands so they don't get tan.

I tried Mystic and it all washed off in the shower the next day. I hear that if you go a few times in a short span you'll create a "base" and not so much will be washed off. Could be worth a try!

I work at a place that offers Magic Tan-the same concept as Mystic. What I do to make my tan last longer is to gently pat myself when I get out-you cannot rub, as this will take the tan off. Also, I am not familiar with Mystic Tan, but I am assuming that a bronzer is in the solution-this will wash off the next day, leaving the tan behind. A tip-eat a lot of protein the day before and that day-you will be darker. Also, I find that I do not get as dark during that time of the month-something to do with hormones. As for the sealant-I don't find it works-don't waste your money. And as for going to build up a tan-not true. The reason the tan doesn't last is because as your skin naturally exfoliates itself, the tan wears off. My advice is to moisturize daily with any mositurizer, and don't use exfoliaters or rough loofahs after tanning. I keep up my tan by applying Jergens natural glow daily after tanning, and this really keeps the tan up. Good Luck!
