I have had two different doctors attempt to do a colpscopy and get a biopsy. Neither could get into the cerivix. I am waiting word to go into the hospital to have it done under anesthesia along with a cone biopsy. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. I've researched every site I could find and nothing is available about this.

angel,
when you say "get into the cervix" it sounds like your dr. saw suspiscious cell
changes going up your cervical canal. Usually they do a ECC to determine if there
is any dysplasia in there. If this is the case, a cone biopsy is usually done to determine
how far up in the canal the dysplastic changes are. A cone is therefore not only a diagnostic procedure but CAN also be a treatment if they get rid of everything.

The opening to the cerivix is closed, they got scrapping for a pap and it showed pre cancer, vinagar solution showed white portions. They tried several different intruments and could not get into the cervix.

You might want to do some research on stenosis of the cervix. Do you have normal periods?
In any case, if cancer cannot be ruled on the basis of colposcopy (like when the opening of the cervix cannot be observed or the lesion goes up the canal) a cone biopsy is mandatory.

If it's any help, I had a cold knife cone done a few weeks ago. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I am 57, no more periods. Thanks for the info, I'll see what I can find.
