View Full Version : Day sweats?

I know lymphoma can cause night sweats, but what about day sweats? I haven't noticed any new nodes lately, and the ones I have seem to wax and wane daily. But I'm still pretty careful with this and am posting to get some peace of mind.

I've been sweating more lately, but only under the arms. I notice my armpits get slightly damp even when I'm in a cool room, and I'm not emotionally stressed or hot. I also had to present a project in school yesterday, and I sweated a lot from under my arms, and a little on my palms. I know this is a normal reaction since I was nervous, but I usually sweat very little to none at all when I'm nervous.

My question is, what are lymphoma-induced sweats like? Do they increase sweating, or just make you sweat regardless of conditions?

Thank you

Day sweats in a woman who has not entered menopause needs to be monitored for fever. A male who is having sudden "day sweats" definitely needs to monitor body temperature and to go to the doctor if they continue. Females who are not sure what is causing the sudden bursts of sweating without exercise or room temperature changes, need to go see the doctor for evaluation. I would in my personal case, check the body temperature 4 times per day for a week to see what the highs and lows are and get an average range. This will clue in whether fever is occurring or if it is hormone influenced, or diet influenced. Caffiene withdrawal can cause the sweats, as can a sudden drop in blood sugar. Again, the blood sugar problem if it should be detected needs thorough evaluation by a doctor.

Hey

Thanks for your response Marimac. I actually have been taking my temperature when I sweat and feel like I have a fever, but so far it's been normal body temp. I just have sweating under the arms, and it's relatively mild in that it only feels a little moist; its not drenching. This just seems to happen even when I am not hot. Is that normal or a bad sign?
