My husband had carpal tunnel surgery 4 weeks ago
and his symtoms are now worse. In addition right off
to the right side of the incision on his lower palm
it is very hard, sore and tender. He has CT in both
hands but is reluctent to have surgery on his other
hand now. Does any one have any imput as to this
situation.
Thanks, Kiehn

I had the surgery on both hands. When I had the first one done I didn't think it worked at first. It really does take time to heal.up to a full year....In fact, I must have had scar tissue in the first hand afterwards because I couldn't bend my wrist fully and one day my daughter jumped on me on the couch and landed on my wrist. I heard it snap and really thought she broke it but then I was able to bend it again... Give it time, it will feel better. let me know how it goes.

Thanks Carol for your info, I do however feel it was
the doctors place to of informed my husband of this possibility. Time for a new doc. My sympathies to
all you who live in New York, but I guarantee you even
on the west coast flags are flying everywhere showing
our unity as one nation. Thanks again Sue

I kept complaining to my doctor about my hand and he said it was nothing....I'm guessing on my own that it was scar tissue. I have gone back to him in the past about the pain I still get and he had me tested for arthritis which came out negative. I still have pain and stiffness in my hands/fingers and no strength. My hands are also very sensitive to the cold....I chalked it up to what I will have to live with. I wish your husband luck. I myself am tired of doctors. It took 3 of them to finally decide it was CTS to begin with.
Thank you also for your thoughts for all in NY. It is pretty tough here. My friend lost her husband and my dad lost his cousin.......both have not been recovered. God bless everyone..........
Hi I had surgery on Oct 1 2000 the kind where my orthopedic surgeon makes a small inscion on the wrist and uses a camera to cut the tissue. I wasn't to use my hand for a week then when the stiches came out I was on a 5 pound restriction for a month, then It was up to me on how much to lift. It was sore but not painful for awhile, but now I have no symptons and it feels great. I did have a few sessions of physical therapy afterwards mostly strengthing exercises it sure helped. Hope I helped some.
