I'm 19, female, in a long term relationship with the man I lost my virginity to.
For the last couple of days it's been burning when I urinate, but I have no other symptoms. Could this be related to him being away for 4 weeks, as when he came back we had a lot of sex for a week, and then this started. I've had problems about a year ago, like random bleeding which stopped after a short time. I just linked these to too much sex after not having any for a while. Is this what's causing it? And how long till the burning feeling goes away? I'm starting to dread going to the toilet.
Cheers

Get a STD checkup soon.

Is that the only thing it could be, an STD? Or are there other causes?

It could also be a bacterial infection. They can be very painful and you can really dread going to the bathroom. If your boyfriend was also a virgin than it cant be an STD. I would go to the doc though. Bacterial infections can be extremely painful and can be cured with antibiotics. So, I would set up an appointment.

This sounds to me like cystitis or a urninary tract infection. When you have lots of sex after not having any for a little while your urethra gets irritated and bacteria get inside causing an infection. Drink lots and lots of water which will help with the pain when urinating, and take a urine sample to your health care provider. They can do a stick test there and then to diagnose it, and will probably give you antibiotics.

You can also get something from the chemist, but I would go to your GP today.

Hope that helps and hope you feel better soon.

I agree with Tess...Urinary Tract Infections are also known as "honeymoon syndrome" meaning... They are very common after a couple have had a lot of sex in a shorter amount of time, like you did the week he returned. They are very uncomfortable , but not at all uncommon. You will need to do a urine sample for your doctor and he would presribe an antibiotic...Oh sorry finished reading Tesss's post and basically said the exact same thing...

Thanks for all your help. The burning has gone away now, but I'm still going to get tested. My boyfriend wasn't a virgin, but thankfully I've scared him into going for a check up. Basically we figure that if he doesn't have anything, then I won't. He had no idea that some diseases have no symptoms, so at least one good thing has come out of it.
But I'm still going to get tested, just for the peace of mind,
Thanks again guys
