hi. I am a 21 year old female. A little over a year ago I developed an extremely painfull ovarian cyst. I was in so much pain that I was on darvocet 24-7 on the highest dose and just trying to be able to rest on that. Then the cyst ruptered. Worst pain I have ever ever felt. If childbirth is anything like that, then I never want children. I just tried to concentrate on breathing.
After the cyst ruptered the pain did not go away.
I had a gyno do an laproscropy. I had a colonoscopy and an MRI and and a CAT scan and a whole bunch of tests and enough gynecological exams to last me a decade.
Up at Mayo I was diagnoses with Abdominal Nerve Entrapment. I was treated with a series on injections in the painfull spot, and after several the pain was gone.
However, after a bad fall this winter, the pain started comming back and then it got severe and once again I was on Darvocet and could't get out of bed. I was luckily able to go back up to the Mayo pain clinic within the week and the injection there relieved the vast majority of the pain.
But it still does have that constant ache. I know I need another injection, but I was waiting to see if it might go away on its own. I'm trying to find a more local pain clinic- mayo is 6 hours one way from me. Chicago is only a couple of hours away and while no one in my town will treat me, the next city about an hour away has a pain clinic.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is this something that is likely to recur all my life?
After the first series of injections my muscle no longer worked correctly so I started physical therapy and have been in that since. We've done a lot of work on strengthening the abdominal muscles and I keep up with my excercises.
