hey all have had a terrible day today and just wanted to let it out!!

am now 6 days into taking my AD (cipramel) last two days have had whole tablet, I know it's not a very long time but am still waking up at 3am every morning, finding it hard to get up before midday and thoughts are racing around in my head, have been trying to do my essay today and have just been sitting in front of the compuer thinking and feeling slightly sick, grrrrr!

What annoys me most is I know underneath it all there is a perfectly happy, capable person!!! Grrrrr!

I know with Effexor it takes from 6 to 8 weeks.I noticed a real difference after 8 weeks but I still have bad days.Is your med an upper?I know effexor is sometimes I stay up until two in the morning watching TV.

i know when i first started taking my meds (prozac) i could NOT sleep!! and was getting even MORE depressed because the meds didnt seem to be working, ironic eh! but they WILL get better, time is the answer and if not then a different med or dosage may be needed :)

It took me a while to get used to cipramil but once I got used to them it was great. I remember they upped my dose from 20mg to 40mg literally overnight and I was awful. I drove into town one day which was about a 15 mile journey and how I made it there and back in one piece I will never know. I yawned the whole way, couldnt concentrate on the road or anything around me. They cut me down to 30mg within 4 days as it was so bad and since then the doctors I am under now have said that should never have happened. As your dose increases you will find you will feel a little different and not able to concentrate but once your body adjusts then you will feel better. My doctor never gave me a chance to adjust as it was almost life threatening. Out of interest, are you on 20mg daily now?

hey everyone thanks for the replies, I know it will take time, but after 18 months or not knowing what is going on I just want it to start doing its job!

Yep I'm on 20mg at the moment.
