Does anybody know a good make-up that can cover blotchy redness and pimples that's waterproof? Also something that won't totally break me out would be good. I heard you can spray hairspray over your regular make-up to waterproof it, but this sounds like an invitation for acne. Anybody tried it? What kind of hairspray would you use? Anyway, I want to go snorkling and not come out grose, streaked, and with pimples glaring.

I use neutrogena foundation (i use to use almay but didnt like the smell) It has a 15spf I believe, Im not 100%, but I really like that, it's suppose to have acne fighting things in it. Both cost about 10 bucks, but it is worth it.
Waterproof wise, just look on the labels while shopping in makeup isles. I just bought some mabaline blackish/brown mascara and it said waterproof right on the bottle and on the package, ive been using that stuff on and off and i like it. You'll need eye makeup remover to get it off otherwise it'll still be there the next day!
I havent found waterproof eye liner, but I really like the cover girl brand, it's not like the colored pencil its like a plastic thing and you twist the end for the eye liner to come out and it has a little white spongy like thing on the other end. I use black onyx im sure they are all good but i go for black.
Oh also, on some days that my acne isnt even bad i just skip the foundation. I figure it's better to let my face breath and do its thing then have stuff caked all over it? I think that helps a lot too.

Lucky! I need to wear foundation to control the oil and hide overall redness. And my skin actually stays clearer when I wear make-up (no idea why, maybe it soaks up the oil or something). Also, I don't care about lipstick or eye make-up. I just want bye-bye redness and pimples, ya know? And while tons of mascara have a waterproof version, I've never seen a base or concealer that claim to be.

Hi:)
I just made a post about Dermablend. It is waterproof and smear proof. It is also good for covering up imperfections on your skin. That's the original reason it was sold. I've worn it and it lasted all day with me sweating and stuff. I've never worn it to swim, but again, that's what it says you can do on their page. Do a search and read about it. I paid about $18 dollars for the base and about the same for the powder. You need the powder to make it waterproof. It is also a full coverage makeup. Hope this helps some.

Do you have to buy Dermablend online? How do you know what color to get? And what makes their powder special? $18 for powder seems pretty pricey. And would you mind swimming or dunking your face in the sink and then patting dry and letting me know if it actually works like it claims? And what type of skin do you have?

I intially bought DermaBlend online, but I was told you can get it in a CVS pharmacy. I haven't had a chance to look yet.
Online, they show you different colors and you pick the one that is closet to what you wear. For instance, I wore creamy beige with Merle Norman, so I picked True beige with DermaBlend. The colors are pretty consistant. It claims to conceal all of these: vitiligo, varicose veins, acne scarring, post surgical discoloration, burns, age spots, port wine stains and birthmarks.
The powder is what holds everything in place. It makes your makeup waterproof, smudge proof, etc. I checked to be sure and yes it is $18 dollars. All I can say that after being a hot blooded person all of my life and sweating most of the time, it didn't cake up or run when I sweat and that pretty much sold me.
I don't have anywhere to go to swim and I don't think I want to waste my makeup and dunk my head under the water, lol. But, when I first got it, I tried a little on my chin and splashed water on it and then dabbed a paper towel and it stayed on.
I have fairly good skin. The only problems I have are freckles. I always had to go over my freckles two times with my old makeup to cover them up, but with DermaBlend, I only had to pass once and they were covered.
I don't know what else to say. Not everyone will like it I'm sure. All I can give you are my opinions. You would have to purchase it yourself and see:)

I meant like right before you're ready to wash it off at night. I wouldn't want to ruin a fresh aplication either.
More questions. Can you get a nice natural look or thinner coverage with it if you just don't apply thick? Also, can you return it if you're not happy? I'm afraid the lightest color would still be too dark - I'm the very lightest shade L'Oreal offers, and that's the only make-up to ever really match my pale skin. But maybe it's just my screen making it look dark. Maybe I can find it in a store. Oh, if you order from the website, how long does it take to be shipped?

I know whenever I accidentaly get hairspray on my foundation it certainly does not make for a pretty picture so I'd never recommend such a thing! Makes the foundation cake up and clumpy looking in addition to unnaturally shiny. I have used the majority of stay put foundations on the market and have to say that I do not think any of them would last rhough snorkeling and wearing that snorkeling mask you;d come out w/ a mask sized ring indented into your face and the foundation under where the mask was woudl be gone. They're meant to outlast some humidity and wet weather, but not snorkeling. Try Ultima II Wonderear or Almay Amazing lasting foundation though to test them in water before you go snorkeling.

If I remember, I'll definitely try it for you.
My daughter actually said it didn't look like I had much make-up on. She told me it looked really good and natural. It "is" pretty thick, but it doesn't "look" thick on your skin...is the only way I can explain it.
Yes, you can return it if you don't like it. They give you 30 days. Make sure it says that on the site though. There are different sites that sell it. The one I ordered off of had a 30 day refund on it and I actually spoke to the lady selling it directly and she told me if I wasn't happy with it or it wasn't the color I wanted to send it back and she would send me something else.
Did you get to see all of the colors yet? There is a really light one on there.
It took 2 weeks to come in. You get an order confirmation number so that you can keep track of your order. The site I ordered from, I called and talked to the seller herself and she told me how much longer it would be.

Hmmm, now that you say that about the mask, I'm not sure if it will stay on. It says it's smear proof, but I wonder if it's smear proof under water with the mask moving all over? Not sure about that. It does say you can swim and exercise with it and it will stay, but may come off with vigorous exercise. The commercial even shows a lady swimming with it on and it still looks the same.
I know that I really love it, but I've never swam with in on yet.

Well, I know I can't expect a full foundation to stay on through snorkling with a mask, but perhaps something that I could put over just a few pimples rather than my full face and have those spots stay covered. But more coverage lasting through normal swimming would be nice. Oh, and does it matter if it's ocean water or pool water?

I'm not sure about the difference between ocean water and pool water. Their commercial shows a lady swimming in pool water. Why don't you do a search and see if there is a number you can call and ask about all of that.
