Pleeeeaaaase help me know where to turn! I have had a host of problems since I had a baby two and a half years ago. First unusual thing was I passed a HUGE blood clot in the hospital the day after I had my baby. It was the size of a football...I didn't even know what it was.
Then over the next couple months I had lots of problems that I'd never had before. My doctor has been trying to figure me out, but nothing much shows up in the bloodwork.
I have lots of pain on my right side only. My arm and leg (mainly my thigh) have been very achy on the right side. My doctor just kind of ignored it until I discovered a lump on my right arm. He said it was a blood clot and he began feeling all over my arm and said, "Actually you have several clots on your arm." Then I told him that the place on my thigh that I had been complaining about for months had a big bruise on it now, so he looked at it and said, "That's another blood clot." So, I'm thinking, well at least now we are getting somewhere, but then he said it was no big deal because they are superficial.
But does it make sense that I have so much pain on the right side and the blood clots are all on the right side? How does he know if I have some deep ones too or not?
Then I had an x-ray after that for a different doctor/different problem and they discovered a phlebolith, which I read is a calcified blood clot, in my right pelvis. Supposed to be no big deal, I guess, except I wonder since I have a lot of hip pain and of course, it is on the right side again.
Any suggestions as to what is going on here? What doctor would I see if I wanted to check into the DVT thing? Does DVT show in your bloodwork? How do they detect DVT...like would an ultrasound/x-ray/MRI show it?
Anyone else have blood clots only on one side? Thanks!
P.S. - Sometimes I am concerned there could be blood clots in my head because of some vision loss/hearing loss, ringing in the ear, pressure in right eye that happened slowly after I had my baby. That is why I'm not so sure I want to just say, "Oh, it's nothing..."
