Hello,
If I had known what Chemotherapy could do to my health,I believe I might have skipped it,and opted for surgery only!
I'm only 55 & feel like 95 years old most days.Ooooh the feet they hurt so much in the daytime or have popsickle toes at night or on Fire.Started taking 60 mg of Cymbalta daily, sure helps the nighttime pain.Hope it helps the feet too!
Have only had Neuropathy 9-10 months and I've had ENOUGHT of it.
Will my pain be Forever? Does it ever go Away?
Take Care

Hi
My Husband has also been left with the same problem after chemo. It has been two years he has dealt with this. He is in remission(thank god) however as you have express dealing with this (after chemo) is alittle more one can bear. quality of life has changed!!!!! He has tryed two medications...both drugs worked for three months, however he had to stopped them because of the side effects. after stopping the neuropathy came back stronger then ever. His neurologist told him that he should only need the meds for three to 6 months and then the problem will be gone. Well he going to try another drug, however is hesitant for the side effects that are common for this med, remind him of the chemo. If it works i will let you know, I hope you find an answer for this chemo side effect. I guess it is very common, from what we have been told. Good Luck

Hi pic,
Did your Husband have lung cancer?
Saw my surgeon 5-11-05 and told him my ribs are stillsore 16 months after surgery, told him ( Again ) about my neuropathy.Asked if it was the Trauma of Surgury that caused this.Oh,No,It was the chemicals they used.I am just not comfortable with this Surgeon OR his partner.Anyway,I asked for a renewal of a mild Darvocet.Said No,that I should go to a pain management Doctor.Heck,he caused the pain-now take care of me.
Did your Doctor ever tell you about the possibility of neuropathy after surgery? Or any Doctor Tell You?
My Neuro told me "this will be as bad as it gets" but I've been reading that its forever........no......
Good Luck with his new drug also,Cymbalta is working fine for me at nite only.
