Hi everyone this is my first time posting on the Foot Problems board I'm hoping one of you has a better answer than my GP did.

A couple of weeks ago I was standing in my bare feet and my son looked down and said "Mom, what's the matter with your toes?"
I never noticed it before but there is a huge gap between my big and second toe on both of my feet.
My second toe is actually curving towards my third toe.
I know it hasn't always been this way, because I'm sure I or someone who's seen me in my bare feet would have noticed it before.

I had an appointment with my GP yesterday for an unrealted problem so I showed him my feet and asked him what he thought would cause this.
He said he really didn't know, but he thought it was probably happening because I have flat feet and it was nothing to worry about.

Yes, I do have flat feet...had them all my life...but why would it just show up now?
Is it because I've been walking around in these flat feet for 36 years and my toes just couldn't take it any more :) ?

There's no pain at all, it just bugs me because it looks awful my feet really look deformed.

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

huh, I'm stumped. Maybe you should see a podiatrist but if you are not experiencing any pain then I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the response.
I'm not really worried about it, I just wish I knew what was causing it to happen.
Maybe my GP is right and it is just because of my flat feet.
Like I said it doesn't hurt at all so I guess I'll just let it go and hope nobody looks at my weird toes :)
