Hi,
Have you been to your doctor about this? It could be something as simple as a pinched nerve.

Keep a journal of your symptoms - this is helpful when going to the doctor.

Best wishes,
Julie

No one "dies" from MS. It's not a fatal disease. Please try to be sensitive to all the people with MS who read messages on this site.

Hi Dawn,
I hate to say it, but in rare cases, MS can be fatal. But I stress the word rare. A woman in our church passed away last year from MS. Over the years her MS lesions caused her internal organs to fail. Even so, she was in her late 60s. And though she was completely paralyzed the last few years, she maintained a positive attitude and continued living her life to help others. She headed the local MS chapter until the end.

So I do believe the stories of others who have lost loved ones to MS. Although rare, it does happen.

I agree with you that we should all be sensitive to others in not focusing on the possibility of such a terrible outcome. However, I think this poster was just letting us know that part of his concern is that he has a family history of MS.

I like Gaulty's attitude of hoping for the best with MS. We all need to hold onto to hope.

Take care,
Julie

You're welcome. I understand what it's like to have a family member with MS. Both my mom and daughter have it. Whenever I get a weird unexplained thing going on with my body I can't help but wonder if it might be MS. But so far, so good!

Best to you,
Julie

people do die of the symptoms of MS which they would not have if they did not have the disease
