Guys,

It has been a while since I last posted. I had microdiskectomy's in Feb. 2002 and Sept. 2002. Nerve damage/right side from L4/L5. Many, many injections, nerve freezing, etc. etc. since, and then a spinal cord stimulator in Nov. 03.

I have now developed a lot of pain down my right leg, pain managment doc thinks it could be a herniation on L5/S1 now! I don't know how much more I can take, I am in a lot of pain. I take 8 Norco's a day, and some times it feels like I need more!

I have a Mylegram/CT Scan next Thursday (I can not do MRI), to see what the problem is. Has anyone every had a Mylegram done? Does it hurt.

Thanks for your help.

Karie,

Had several mylegrams and only the last one of mine hurt, but then my back had crumbled and was a mess down in the canal. You said you could not do MRI, but does that include the "open" MRI's? They are very open, not any thing closed in like the others. If the close space is the problem, you might want to ask about going for the open MRI.

Now back to mylegrams, even when I had the extremely painful one, it was not the doctor's fault and they were most patient and sympathetic and at least made me believe that they hated what I was going through. Once I saw the tests I fully understood why this old woman who had managed to hold it together through so many horrid life taking events with the military lost it on the table during a test. Hopefully, yours will be like my others and you will just find yourself on the table, moving about trying to get into different positions as they tilt the table. Usually no worse than a little ***** for the dye to be injected and getting a bunch of xrays taken.

Best wishes and let us know how things go for you.

I believe any possibility of reaction to the dye runs less than 1 person in 1000, so let this be a non-event.

Best wishes and let us know how things go for you.

Karie  I too was scared to death of the thought of my mylegram, was making myself sick thinking and worrying about it... well the day came I had it done and It was not bad at all.... I had more pain from the previous ESI's than the mylegram. So I am hoping that yours will go as well. :bouncing: It is possible that the doctor numbed it up really good or maybe did some sort of block,,, I did tell him I was terrified of it before the procedure... The reason I can not do MRI's is that the spinal cord stimulator that I have won't allow them. If you do an MRI with a stimulator it could break due to the magnetic force.
