Hi all,
just wondering if someone can give me their opinion....
My 11yr old daughter has heart disease with heart block, has routinely had lower bld pressures. She will probably have to have a pacemaker in the future.... has episodes of bradycardia.
This past week she has looked very flushed,(no temp) says she feels fine, but today her nose started to bleed, for no apparent reason.
Is this a sign of high bld pressure......I don't really want to go to the hospital just to get her bld pressure taken...especially if she feels fine.

Go get a home monitor - you could pick one up at WalMart. You can take the pressure yourself and see if it warrants a trip - good for future use too! A nose bleed could be a sign of high blood pressure, also, is she taking any blood thinners? That could definitely do it too. Will she go to a store with you to take her blood pressure? Stop off at a store on the "way to the doctor", if it's normal go back home and use the new monitor you will buy (just in case the store one is off!), if it's high, just GO to the doc.
