My hip joint pops, and it happens best when I sit down in a chair and pivot my groin one direction and hold my knee back in the other. There is a very loud popping sound and there is usually a lot of pain. I can feel when it needs to be popped, and then after the pain there is relief. So who gots it?

I can also pop my hip and can tell when it needs to be popped. Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn't. I never really thought I had a hip problem but while in physical therapy for a leg problem they decided to check out my hips and told me I have Femoral Anterior Glide with Medial Rotation Syndrome. Sounds confusing, but it's when your hip joint is too far foward and the socket part of the joint kind of partially dislocates. My hip flexor muscles are really tight and so my flexability there really sucks. They made me do a bunch of exercises and taped my hip in place to try and fix it. It didn't really work. So if you have this, it's no biggie. You can freak people out if they hear your hip pop really loud.

I'm so glad I found this post. I thought I was the only one that had this problem.
Back in 1999, my hip starting popping, mostly during sex, so I had my husband try to pop it back it place by pulling on my leg. My hip doesn't pop anymore, I now have sciatic nerve pain, and am unable to work full time anymore.
I have often wondered if his puling on my leg to try and stop the popping is what caused the damage, but it did start right after that.
