as mentioned earlier, my brother has ITP. he was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago. He had gamma globulin for his first and second treatment-unfortunately it didnt work. So he is now on prednisone (its been a little over a week) We were just starting to cope with this whole ITP thing when we noticed Max doing these weird things with his eyes. He closes them for a short period and when he opens them it is obvious that they have been rolled to one side. The doctor obviously asked us to take him in straight away and they promptly did a CT scan on him to rule out any bleeding. He was clear. They have now booking him in on Thursday for an EEG and are suggesting that he has 'unrelated' seizures for which they are for sure the reason. my parents are so freaked out about this whole thing. they are just so stressed. im really praying Max doesnt have epilepsy-hes at the hospital right now, they're doing an EEG on him.
we thought this whole thing was bad enough-a couple of days ago, Max tripped over and hit his head. He cut above his eyebrow and needed to have stiches. Obviously the stiches were of little concern with his count at only 23K we were and still are, worried about bleeding in his brain. The hospital did another CT scan which came up clear but explained to us that internal bleeding in the brain can happen at any time after a trauma.
I would really like to have more information about this. Could someone offer me some input?? What are the chances of internal bleeding in the brain after a head trauma??
thanks so much
