Hi everyone..........im just curious as to what "labs" is. THe symptoms, how long does it usually last, and is there something that helps get you over it? I see that alot of people on here have it, but i'm just not sure what it is. Thank you!

Thanks Scott, I read that but I was just wondering how people felt with it, how their symptoms affect them and does it ever get better? Thanks for any replies.

I have uncompensated labs and have had it 2 1/2 yrs. Most (and I) have 24/7 dizziness (a weird dizziness, nt lightheadiness), motion, dizzy vision, ground movement, imbalance, brain fog, fatigue etc etc.....

60% recover within 8 weeks. 40% dont and it can last months/years. There is no timeframe and noone can guess how long they will have it. You just have to hope you are one of the lucky ones...

Hi Deena,

In terms of how labs feels, well I can only say that I have never in my life felt so bad as I did when I was acutely ill with the condition. It was beyond anything I'd ever known. Dizziness, anxiety, depression, helplessness, zero confidence, bleak outlook....etc. Very nasty stuff.

How long? CL covered it but would like to add that the mean recovery time for VN (as I heard it from a neurologist) is apparently 2 years, that is, at the 2 year mark, complete compensation has occurred. Mopping up the residual anxiety seems to be an individual thing however. In other words, it's up to you how quickly and how well you are able to restore this in your body. It took me 18 months to kill the dizziness but I still haven't beaten the anxiety...almost there but not quite.

Cheers...Scott

If you have labs, Can the dizziness come and go or is it there 24/7?

Im not sure leelee thats why i want to know more about labs.............my dizziness comes and goes too. I really think mine is more allergy/sinus related, cause on my bad days, my eyes feel like they are crossing cause of the pressure, and they also water. I don't feel congested though, but i read on the allergy board that you don't have to feel congested to have sinus problems. I don't have drainage or anything like that either.......sometimes I have a little cough with phlegm but not all the time. When my symptoms are at their worst, i feel a little dizzy, lightheaded, brain fog, very tired, but other times, i feel pretty good, just anxiety cause im scared its going to come back. With labs, do you have good days or are they all pretty much bad? Thanks for the replies!!!

With labs dizziness is 24/7 unless you are at the latter stages where it can come and go.

Labs causes good/bad days as compensation is occuring but even on good days dizziness is still there, its just more tolerable.
xx
