I was wondering when you have the Ulnar Nerve release from the tunnel surgery in your elbow, do you get a soft or hard cast?

I really need the hard cast with my children around and was wondering if I ask the doctor will I be able to get the hard cast? Or do you always get the soft cast?

If you can let me know what you got and how long you had to wear it? Also how long was the healing process?
What about therapy?

Thanks for all your help :)

Hi. I had the release done in the wrist and elbo at the same time. I woke up with a soft cast on and I kept it on for 3 days I was told on the 3rd day to remove it and chenge the dresing then put 3x3 pads over the incisions. It was an easy surgery I was able to pick up my kids within a week to 10 days. I even had the other side done 3 weeks later because it went so well. I went on a rollercoastet 2 days after my 2nd surgery Not a good idea but it was fun. lol.

Good luck I hope yours turns out as good as mine did. It was worth it.
