Yay! We received a copy of the independent medical exam that SSDI requested my husband to participate in. Thankfully, the dr. was totally supportive and indicated that dh is not suitable for any gainful employment at this point. Then, after the impending surgeries, his neuro and orthopedic surgeons are the only ones who can determine if he is well enough to be released for work.
We still aren't getting our hopes up, tho. SSDI is probably still going to deny him based on age alone.

We received our third denial today. The medical examiner SS sent him to said dh couldn't work, his own drs said he couldn't work, he has numerous qualifying conditions as listed by SSA, and he still received a denial. Our atty said to expect it because of his age. Oh, well. It's going to be a long year before he can see a judge. He had objective evidence up the wazoo and still got denied. The administration is unethical and there isn't a thing you can do about it unless you jump through their hoops.
