Please I need some help,
My doctor told me that the emg came back normal, but I am still in a lot of pain and all the same stuff is going on. Nothing has changed. She canceld the surgery and told me to try another new brace for 6 weeks. It is not in my head, Everyone see's the diff colors in my hand and the lump I get in the arm and how bad my arm and hand hurts, it makes me cry even. I dont understand what is going on. And I can not get any answers from my doctor for 6 weeks, because she is having her baby now.
Any ideas what is going on, and why I am having so many prob and the test comes back okay?
Has this happened to anyone?
Does the EMG test tell you if it is your muscles or just your nerves?
Please any help would be greatful,
Hugs Chele'

Have you investigated thoracic outlet syndrome. The symptoms mimic fibro and myofacial pain. Not sure about the rest of your pain but mine is in my shoulder, arm, neck, lower back, leg. I had accepted that I had fibro and mps but found out that I tos in both shoulders and hope to have surgery in the next month or so. My veins are also constricted in both arms. This can cause carpel tunnel as well. Try a nerve conduction study and see where that gets you.

Well, I did go and see my doctor and he set up an MRI testing for me. Hopefully, the test shows whats wrong w/me.
My doctor sounds like your doctor. I call him the 3 minute doctor. He only goes in the room for about 2-3 minutes and leaves, without taking a look at my hands.
I know what you mean about the doctor making you feel the way you do. My doctor told me that I didn't make any sense about the pain I feel. I told him "What don't you understand. I'm here in front of you telling you what is wrong with me". He got upset and started yelling "Out rule everything, send her for an MRI". So, here I am now.
However, after I have the test done I am getting a second opinion. Maybe you should too. Don't feel like you have to stick to one doctor. Maybe you should request to have an MRI done. It may be helpful.
I had to wear the braces 24/7 for about a month or two, on both hands (which can be very uncomfortable at times). I will keep you posted on what happens.
I wish you well!

Hi. My EMG was negative so I was dropped from workman's comp. :( I am going to go to another neurologist, but I was told it's possible to have a negative EMG and still have CTS. To anyone reading this - have you ever had a negative EMG and still been diagnosed with CTS? If so, who diagnosed it and how? Pls. keep in touch. I am getting worse and would like to know what your update is.
