I forgot to ask the doctor, when I would be able to attempt to climb stairs. I do live in a 2 story house, and I scoot down & crawl up.. pretty funny picture, and my 3 year old grandson laughs & laughs as he watches his nana! Anyway, I am okay with this, but I would like to go to church & sunday school, and my sunday school is on the 2nd floor... and I refuse to to the scoot & crawl thing!!
If you have stairs, when were you able to go up & down on your foot?

We have 8 steps to get outside, and I was going to the doctor once a week while non weight-bearing. Luckily, my fiance helped me out, basically by being my crutch on one side, and I used the railing on the other, and I was able to hop.
Actual stair climbing was when I was able to put weight on the foot. That changes everything. Whenever that is, you'll be able to handle stairs, but not putting one foot in front of the other - I don't even have to tell you that, it'll be totally instinctual. You put the good foot up, followed by the healing one - then you put the healing one down, followed by the bad one.
I live in a townhome so we have stairs. I did the scoot down and crawl up too as long as I was NWB because I was not comfortable using my crutches. I was able to use stairs, slowly, once I was able to put weight on my foot. Now I fly up & down them almost as good as before............good luck to you!!!

Be careful feetfirst--I'm not good with stairs normally so my hat's off to you ladies. I wanted to go to church today too but its too much for me to do by myself and my daughter is gone this weekend. There is only one handicap parking place near the front of the church and its always full so its too far for me to get parked and inside (very large church). Isn't it funny the things you never notice when you aren't handicapped but are huge deals when you are?

I did make it to church today, but decided to skip Sunday School... didn't want to tackle the stair issue. My daughter dropped me off in the handicap area, and I only had a small walk into the church. It wasn't too crowd, now that season is ending (I am in Florida) and I was able to prop my foot on the pew. It was nice to get out again.
My foot is feeling much better today, and hopefully it will continue. Once I got back home I even cleaned the house a little bit ( the house dirt is diving me crazy). The rest of the day I plan on just icing, elevating and doing nothing.
