A bone graft gets put in place of the lost bone. I do not know the exact time for healing, but fractures of the upper extremity with GOOD blood supply generally require 6-8 weeks for union of the bones. I would guess at least this long or longer for a poorly vascularized scaphoid. flintrock 05-09-2005, 08:57 AM His surgery went great. Bone graft was a piece of cake too. He never complained of pain post op and is doing great. He gets stitches out of wrist and staples out of hip Wednesday. he really did well. he said he can already tell the difference. I was amazed. Blood circulation was not an issue with his injury....Doc was pleased with surgery....he's doing wonderful... |
