Is it just me.... or when the heat and humidity climbs higher, the symptoms increase? I find when I get "warm", like when I'm working ( I work in a bookstore) my hands get that 'fat' feeling, I drop things, (probably a good thing I don't work in a china shop) lol, I find myself dreading summer and thinking of moving back home where the weather is a lot less humid than the east coast and a lot cooler. I hibernate in the warm weather and come alive in the cold weather. Although I've always loved the cold weather. Anyways, sorry to ramble....

Nope, it's not just you! I am very heat sensitive. Even if it is winter and the building I work in gets too warm (which it does a lot) I have the same problems you mentioned plus. And although I'm always so glad to see Spring arrive, I dread that it means that Summer is just around the corner. I rejoice when I see the first signs of Fall knowing that it won't be long until it will start snowing and I will be comfortable again!

Same here. I cannot tolerate the heat at all. It completely drags me down. I stay in a lot more, and even when I am in in the AC, the heat still bothers me. I start to feel better when the sun starts to go down. Bothers me because I hae 2 small kids and want to play outside with them more, but I just can't stand it and don't know how to fix it....

HI ALL and yes I have the same problem as well but I have found these scarfs you can purchase at Wlmart. you place them in water and refrigeratethem then when the temp is high for you , you go to the frig and grab you a scarf ! this does help a lot. and will make it to where you are able to be out doors for a short time..

Hi all !
Heat and MS do not a good couple make! ~lol~ Well for some anyways. It's called Uthoff's sign.
Over heating can lead to a Pseudoexacerbations.(according to my Neuro) For example if I get to hot, it's weird it's like my whole body slowly stops functioning-- I can't move my legs, I can't think straight and my energy is GONE. Then once I get cooled, I am back to normal (well normal for me anyways ~lol~)
Thank goodness for air conditioning!
Take Care!
"sometimes I get so weird, I even scare myself!"

heat and ms do not mix,,, it always tells that on the MS sites,,,, the MS society got me a cooling vest in 2002,, cause i worked in a pizza shop and restaraunt,, and it was very very hot,, i love it, of course i am hot anyways so it only takes a few hours for the ice packs to thaw out, but i am gonna buy extras soon,, so i can have some back ups. they are called steele cooling vests if u wanna look it up online,, or talk to ur local ms society and maybe they can get one for u!

I get reallllllllllllllllllllll twitchy at work when I'm overheated. It really bugs me at work (I have a desk job). But, at home I'm fine because I always have something cool handy to drink or I can change my shirt. Here's the kicker though. We go to Mexico every spring. I LOVE it there! The heat with the humidity and the sunshine does wonders for me! As long as I always have my water bottle for my short walks and as long as I'm under an umbrella I'm perfect! Go figure. Now the cold on the other hand is way worse for me in general. Poor circulation leads to ice bergs (feet). I sleep with and wear wool socks 365 days a year (yes, even in Mexico!). I do have other health issues besides MS but I thought I'd share anyways!.
