I have always experienced numbness in my fingers and my fingers falling asleep. This winter the numbness became worse and when looking at my fingers they were white like a ghost. I also get pain in my wrists (on the bottom). It's a throbbing pain. My arms fall asleep at night to the point where I need help moving them because I can't feel them. One doctor says it's arthritis and another says it's carpal tunnel...I don't know what to think. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on which fingers are numb also, waking up in the morning numb arm could mean a piched nerve in the upper back or cervical. Carpal tunnel affects the index, thumb and middle finger mostly, the ring and pinky fingers are caused by ulnar nerve entrapment.

Thanks, I'll check that out...it's usually my middle finger through my pinky that gets numb, never my thumb.

That's funny. Back around February the pinky side of my left hand, including my pinky, began to tingle, almost like it was falling asleep. Then this past week, the underside of my wrist started hurting, so bad that I had to leave work Friday night and go to the doctor. I was told I had carpal tunnel syndrome by the ER doctor. You say it's something else though, eh?
P.S. I'm only 28 years old, what the heck?!
