View Full Version : Ketones and leukocytes...

I have had severe flank pain off and on for a year. An ultrasound showed a small kidney stone in my right kidney several months ago, but the pain is mostly in my left flank area. Today I had my urine checked again and it showed leukocytes and large ketones. The nurse said they would send the urine specimen off for further testing. She said the leukocytes probably mean there's inflammation going on somewhere. I'm wondering what the ketones could mean. I haven't been dieting or restricting carbs...what else might cause large ketones to be in my urine? I would greatly appreciate any insight. Thanks so much, Hilery
