Hi Crazyguy
Firstly , please don't panic & don't let your imagination run riot. If your doc thinks it's cts, it probably is. Is the tingling mainly in your thumb & first 3 fingers? The median nerve runs down your arm & ends up in these fingers. When you do a repetitive job like counting money all day, the ligament across your wrist can thicken & that causes pressure on your nerve, then you get the tingling. I always think it's a bit like when you leave your legs crossed too long & you get that 'pins & needles' tingling feeling. Try doing a search on carpal tunnel syndrome & you'll find heaps of information.

There's lots of ways to treat cts. Have you tried wearing splints at night until you get the emg done? You need the kind which will prevent your wrist from bending. I spend all day at a computer & also draw & do calligraphy so my cts kicks off in protest. I wear a splint on my dominant hand at night & find it helps rest it.

Please don't worry too much. When you go for your emg, tell them how scared you are & I'm sure you'll get lots of reassurance.
Best wishes.
Lidia :)
