my sister was diagnosed with an outer ear infection yesterday (didnt know where else i should post this). her ear canal is completely swollen shut & she is in much pain! her dr gave her levaquin. is there anything that she can do to ease the pain while the antibiotic is kicking in? she is just miserable...any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

OUCH! Poor thing... :( I'm surprised the Doc didn't think to give her something for the pain. Maybe you should give him a buzz and ask about that. Did he even mention tylenol or advil? Or maybe hot compresses (i.e. washcloth)
I hope your sis feels better soon.
Prayers  Elisabeth

Yeh sorry alison - we are not too hot on outer ear stuff on here!

The herb goldenseal is good for infections but I wouldnt advise taking it with the antibiotics. The antibiotics will kick in soon.
