From what I've read, the company developing this drug will seek the FDA's blessing to move into Phase IIb at the end of this year, and there's no estimate on how long it will be until enough studies are done to seek final FDA approval. That process alone can take up to one year once the application is submitted.

I also read that this company is challenged in raising enough money to complete all of the studies necessary, though they are making headway.

So, though this treatment seems promising, it will probably be awhile before it really hits the market.
