Hi All,
Ive got a weekend in London coming up in about 6 weeks. Ive been battling since November with VN and had a couple of relapses, which Im currently recovering from one. However Ive got this weekend in London to celebrate my step-Dad's birthday, and we are planning to go on the London Eye.
The London Eye is like a big wheel, you have a huge capsule on the wheel, and it turns very slowly. DO you think it will cause any problems for me or do you think it will be alright? Id love to go on it, but not if its going to cause me problems.
Anyone been on it? Did you enjoy it?

Thanks,
Tesss

Hi Tesss:
I'm picturing a big eyeball right now...obviously I've never been to London but I think I know what you are talking about.
There is a similar (I think) affair at Chicago at Navy Pier. The point of it is viewing the city, not getting a thrill ride. If it goes as slowly as the one in Chicago you should be fine unless heights bother you tremendously. The motion was smooth and slow enough that I didn't even feel that "tickle" in your tummy you usually get on a ferris wheel. The only other thing might be altitude, but how high is it?
Have a great time on your trip...can I stow away in your suitcase?

I walk past it a lot, it goes at a snail's pace, can't imagine it would be a big problem. It wouldn't worry me,

best,

Thanks both of you, you have really reassured me. I half suspected that it would be fine but didn't want to go on it and then ruin the rest of my weekend. It will be the first holiday Ive had since this started too. Of course there is a bit of anxiety that I won't be well for it but you have to let it go a bit don't you.

ASLme I would love to have you stow in my suitcase! But I only live about an hour from London so it wouldn't benefit you that much!

*Huge gasp*

I must say I COULDNT get on the London eye with my symptoms!

I would not go near the thing! I was actually just joking the other day about it as my sister is having a hen weekend soon in London and I was like "hey lets go on the london eye" (not)!!!

If you do - you're v brave or your symptoms arent so bothersome. A car is bad enough for me. With this problem, I have a huge prob with heights (depth perception -makes me v dizzy), not to mention the motion.

Sorry for negativity!

xxx
