My 1st post here. Back in late December I started getting this weird sensation on the top/back rightside of my head. It started out as a tingling sensation, which lasted a few days and would come and go. It felt as though I scraped my head on something, yet there was no scab or anything there. I thought nothing of if for awhile until the pain moved to the top of my head. Now I get this weird sensation, almost like a tender scalp sensation, whereby if I press the area where the sensation is, it hurts a little. So here it is, almost 4 months later and I still have these weird hedaches. Here's the interesting thing: although I get the "pain" in the original spot, as well as on the top of my head, I never feel pain in both areas at the same time. It seems to shift from one spot to the next.
I should point out that the "headaches" never feel deep, but usually only on the surface. I started keeping track of foods I've eaten, how much sleep I get, stress levels. etc and here's a list of what I think may be the problem:
-stress: i've been looking for a new job lately, and although i am currently employed, I feel under pressure a lot.
-foods eaten: can't seem to find any relationship here
-new house: my wife and i moved into a new house in early december and i have often thought that maybe there is something in the house that could be causing this.
-vision: i am nearsighted and thought maybe my eyes were straining too much. I wear glasses for driving. I just had an eye exam yesterday and all went well. After 10 years, my prescription hasn't changed and the doc said my eyes were very healthy.
-shampoo: i was curious about this, since I read here that some shampoos cause people headaches. I tend to change shampoos all the time and am wondering if what I am using now and have been using for awhile may be the cause.
-other things??????

Finally, the "headaches" seem to come on quickly then go away just as fast. I should also note that for about a month, I didn't have the pain at all and thought it was gone forever, but as of last week, it has started again. I am not on any meds either. I have also thought it could be sinus related, since our house has been very dry all winter and I have been waking up with semi-stuffed up sinuses, but not anything really bad. I took a tylenol sinus capsule the other day and it actually took the headache away, but I know that doesn't mean that I have a sinus infection. For all I know, having taken a motrin may have done the same thing.

Sorry for the ramble, but I am trying to figure this out. I know I should probably go see a PCP (don't have one right now), but I just hate going there and telling the doc "I have a headache" and having him tell me to take some motrin and "have a nice day". I realize headaches can be so hard to diagnose. In looking online, the closest thing I can think I have are tension headaches, but I don't get the"squeezing" sensation as one of the symptoms, but I do get the tender scalp feeling. I don't have any other symptoms like dizzyness, weakness, tired, etc. Any ideas? THanks a lot.

I am having the exact same headaches. I got rid of them for awhile and now they are back. It can only be described as a dull pressure headache that makes the scalp kind of burn and tingle. When it first started the doctor diagnosed it as a result of severe sinusitis. My sinuses feel better but the dull pressure remains. The doctor could take a sinus xray to rule out sinuses and then you could go from there. I am thinking about getting an MRI just to put my mind at ease. Although I know its nothing to worry about.
