ok it has been a while since I was in school and they taught me about the different stages of sleep. IS REM sleep when you get the deep sleep and don't the eyes move from side to side very fast? Well I can't move my eyes from side to side because of nerve paralysis. So that would probably affect my sleep.right?

REM sleep is the period of sleep when cell repair goes on. If you're not hitting REM---your body is not repairing itself.

I know this is old, but I didn't want to start a new subject. :)

What are the NORMAL steps of sleep? Can sleep deprived people immediatly go into REM sleep and stay in it for longer periods than those who sleep normally?
