Hi friends,

Today is day 21 for me, and my BEST day ever! Today I was able to clean my kitchen a little, dusted a few pieces of furniture, and sat awhile on the computer downstairs. My foot is really feeling so much better than last week - however, looking at it, it still is very swollen, hard, red & purple in color, and I surely wouldn't want to walk on it, try to stick it in a shoe, or any such thing, but in my wedge shoe, I am doing good! :) :bouncing: Sleeping at night is also much better.

Tomorrow I am leaving with my husband & parents on a mini weekend trip in our motorhome. I don't expect to be doing much of anything, (bring my ice boot too) but I am certainly looking forward to a change of scenery! However, much like Lou, I am enjoying most of my time home and DON'T want to go back to work for a while!

I know exactly how you feel! I was so busy before my surgery that I couldn't wait for the break I'd get - I couldn't wait to watch movies, read, knit, etc. I started out fine, then got extremely bored, then super-lazy. It was hard to get my motivation back to do anything!
Luckily, like muscles, that comes back too!

Have a great time on your trip!

I think you and I are about on the same schedule surgery wise... my foot is not swollen, but it kinda "burns" today...I'm gonna take it kinda easy the next few days, I have to go back to the MD Monday. HAVE A GREAT TIME

Thanks! I'll be heading out a few hours!

Lou, you have NO Swelling!!??? Maybe I should be concerned? My foot is very swollen, hard, purple & red. We are just one day apart - you had your surgery the day after me, and I go back to the doctors on Tuesday.

feetfirst - don't worry! I didn't really have swelling either - it only started after I was weight-bearing. I kept reading about people having swelling and thought I was getting off really easy - trust me, you'll swell. Boy, will you swell. :)

My foot from surgery 1/10/05 is still swollen, red and purple. After listening to people on the boards and my doc too, it just takes time.

Lou,
You are SOOOO lucky! You must have an excellent Dr.I do think alot of outcomes all depend on the Dr.I would consider yourself one of the lucky ones :) I hope you continue on the road you're on.Happy healing :bouncing:

Well.. I do have an advantage of being in the medical profession for over 22 years... probably why I had a bunion to begin with :)

I still in the soft shoe... so once the pressure starts, swelling I guess is very possible

My foot does sorta "BURN" at times.. but it looks ok so far
